Experimental study on strength comparison of the glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) and conventional concrete (M30 grade)

This is a comparatively recent advancement in construction technology. saves money the process because it light weight. The use of glass fiber to replace steel reinforced concrete structures helps reduce corrosion and structural damage. Many alternatives have been investigated increase concrete’s strength, durability, shrinkage characteristics, serviceability while considering global environmental factors. As consequence, has employed as an additive, trials with various percentages 1%, 2 %, 3% cement carried out. When this material, concepts such fiber, weight, cost-effective, ecologically friendly, compressive strength must be considered. GFRC matrix made up cement, sand, water admixtures, contains short fibers. Facade panels, pipes channels are examples non-structural elements that extensively used. Light weight (which lowers dead load), fire resistance, attractive appearance, tensile just few benefits GFRC. Trial tests for without conducted using cubes, beams, cylinders measure differences flexural split strength. Because may molded sculpted number ways, its demand growing India due rising building activity other causes. Compared reinforcing materials, more affordable cost-effective solution.
